Delta Phi Epsilon was founded 103 years ago by five Jewish women facing discrimination while looking for a sisterhood. From that day on, they pledged to stand together, guided by the values of Justice, Sisterhood, and Love.
Today, the lives of Black Americans are threatened by the systems in power. Sharing quotes is not enough for us to undo centuries of structural racism. Though we can admire the work of great activists that came before us - many unnamed and forgotten by history - it is irresponsible to pretend that remembering their lives’ work will be enough to change the structure and culture of The United States.
Following the values of our organization and the spirit of the DIMES, our founders, we encourage you to TAKE ACTION.
The link below is a list of petitions, fundraisers, and educational resources. Please make sure you have taken every action step that you can - sign a petition, contact your legislators, donate to an organization facilitating change, educate a friend or family member.
In order to make real change, anti-racism must be the expectation of every day life. Activism must be an everyday pledge. Please join our sisters in continuing that pledge, in honor of every life taken by police brutality and racism, every day.
