Happy International Day of Light! At SimTigrate, we are passionate about conducting scientific research surrounding both the visual and nonvisual effects of light. Through our collaboration with the Charlie and Harriet Shaffer Cognitive Empowerment Program, many Georgia Tech student groups have studied the influences of light on those with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), including the effects of lighting intensity and temperature on sleep, mood, cognitive alertness, and functional performance. To celebrate this International Day of Light, we wanted to highlight some exceptional student projects that have explored the potential for light to improve the lives of people living with MCI.
