The Rehabilitation Engineering and Applied Research (REAR) Lab undertakes applied research and development targeting the increased health and function of persons with disabilities. , Stephen Sprigle, is a Professor in Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology (http://www.id.gatech.edu/people/stephen-h-sprigle). As both a biomedical engineer and physical therapist, Dr. Sprigle's interests bridge the biomechanics of wheelchair seating, standardized wheelchair cushion and support surface testing and assistive technology design as well as posture and pressure ulcer prevention.
