The beginning of Week 2 of competition was all about the team presentations! 📊🐝 Each subteam got the opportunity to showcase our work to industry sponsors and receive feedback after months of hard work. After two days of presentations, students and sponsors got to network, talk careers, and just hang out a bit more. Plus, we got cool swag :)

Week 1 of the EcoCAR EV Challenge Year 4 Finals ⚡️

The Georgia Tech EcoCAR team spent the week at GM’s Milford Proving Ground testing our vehicle’s capabilities and pushing boundaries during Stage 1 Dynamic Vehicle Evaluations. From testing and vehicle evaluations to consumer ride events, it was incredible seeing a year of hard work come to life on track.

Our amazing Mobility Challenge subteam created a wheelchair lift for paralyzed drivers with partnership with Next-Step Atlanta. We want to bring awareness to the challenge of lifting a wheelchair frame, and showcase our design to target this in this video. Thank you to the physical therapists at Next Step Atlanta for all of their guidance and feedback along the way! ♿️♿️

A huge thank you to Professor Timberlake for being an incredible point of contact and helping make this event possible. It was great collaborating with another college to create a fantastic event that brought together students beyond our university and connected with the local community through meaningful outreach.
Shoutout to everyone who helped make this happen and to the team for being flexible.

We’ve been putting the final touches on the car as we get closer to competition 🛠️🏁 We focused on the details that really make a difference—adding carpet and Velcro to cover exposed bolts and metal for a cleaner, more polished look. To top it off, we’re adding black trim and a full black interior, getting it competition-ready and looking its best 🖤✨
We also wrapped up the false floor in the trunk, where we fabricated an aluminum skeleton with a wood and carpet cover, adding extra storage space underneath 🔧

Our sponsors support us in so many ways, and they’re everywhere. Our Communications Manager loves spotting them out in the world and snapping a photo whenever she can. From Siemens right here in Atlanta to Bosch all the way in Morocco during her travels, their impact truly reaches far beyond our team 🗺️🚗

We recently hosted a Ride & Drive at the MRDC parking lot for Georgia Tech employees, and it meant a lot to share this moment with the people who have helped us along the way. Our project depends on so much behind-the-scenes support, from coordinating travel and ordering parts to handling logistics, communications, and institute-wide connections.

Many of the individuals who joined us are people we’ve worked with over the past four years through emails, meetings, and countless forms of support that often go unseen. This event was a small way to say thank you by inviting them to experience the car they’ve helped make possible. It was special to finally put faces to names and share in something we’ve all contributed to together. ❤️🚗

Final full team meeting of the year—and of the EcoCAR EV Challenge 🥲

EcoCAR has been such a meaningful ride over the past four years. We’re lucky to have team members who’ve been here since the very beginning, alongside those who just joined this semester. That mix of experience, new talent, and excitement is what makes this team so special.

Our members put in countless hours in the shop, working on deliverables, spring reports, testing, and still find time to just hang out together. We know how to work hard, but we also know how to celebrate our wins, support each other, and have fun along the way!!This team truly means a lot to us.

And of course… we had cake to celebrate 🍰

We have a big news at GT EcoCAR!! 🐝🚗

Our team has officially been selected to participate at the EcoCAR Innovation Challenge, sponsored by the US Department of Energy, General Motors, Stellantis, MathWorks, Argonne, and more amazing sponsors!

This next phase will have us work with the Chevrolet Blazer EV as we continue developing, integrating, and testing advanced vehicle systems. Some of our team members and faculty advisor attended the official challenge launch this week!

We are excited for this next cycle as we build on what this team has accomplished and blaze forward into the next phase of the program.
