Professor Clark D. Cunningham, the W. Lee Burge Chair of Law and Ethics at Georgia State University College of Law, said there's no question that Judge Ross' conduct — which includes the affair with the police officer carried out in her chambers, attending a partisan political event, and lying when first accused of the sexual activity — makes her subject to impeachment. But it would be a "mistake to focus on just the sexual conduct," he said.

The scandal that could cost U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross her job also threatens to cause courthouse chaos in the form of recusal motions, bids to reopen suits and uncertainty for clerks. This summer, we are proud to welcome Zach Ansley to our Atlanta office. Zach is a first-year law student at Georgia State University College of Law with a strong interest in criminal defense and public service.

Inspired by the belief that every criminal defendant deserves a vigorous and competent defense, Zach joined GPDC to gain practical experience and learn from attorneys dedicated to serving their clients. He is especially looking forward to developing his advocacy skills and working directly with clients throughout his internship.

Zach hopes to build a career in criminal defense and ultimately serve as a public defender. When he is not studying law, he enjoys cooking and experimenting with recipes from a variety of culinary traditions.

We are grateful to have Zach on our team this summer and look forward to seeing his growth throughout the internship.
