Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity Incorporated, Alpha Lambda Chapter. Established Fall 2014.

Sigma Beta Rho is the premier national multicultural fraternity in the United States. Founded in 1996 on the principles of duty to society, dedication to brotherhood, and the remembrance of cultural awareness, Sigma Beta Rho has since grown to share its goals with over 2,500 men on over 45 college campuses. At Emory, we carried on Sigma Beta Rho's proud tradition of diversity in November of 2014 w

ith four Founding Fathers. Since then, we have tripled in size and now stand with brothers from all over the world, including Nigeria, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, and Jordan. Between us and our decade-old chapter at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the brand of "SigRho ATL" hopes to explode onto the Greek scene with unforgettable events and a deep network of professional alumni and undergraduates alike. Though relatively quiet in our first year, each one of our brothers has put in an immeasurable amount of hard work, and we are all looking forward to becoming Emory's hottest organization.

Why SBR: Before college, I did not envision myself engaging in Greek life. However, when I got to know my brothers, I realized that they are all committed to the fraternity, its values, and, more importantly, each other. Once I realized this, I knew I had to join the family.

What I want to accomplish as a brother: As a brother, I want to help ensure the future success of Sigma Beta Rho. I would love to see the Alpha Lambda chapter---as well as all other chapters---of Sigma Beta Rho establish a legacy that is well-known 10, 20, 30 years down the road.

STRESSED or BURNT OUT? Are you looking for a way to destress in the last wave of midterms before finals season hits in full force? Join Emory Sigma Beta Rho and Lambda Sigma Upsilon at Cox Classroom A this Tuesday, 12/29, anytime from 12-2pm for a discussion about masculinity and it’s intersection with culture and ethnicity. It’s going to be a genuine open environment to talk and share past experiences with others that have gone through the similar issues in the past. All are welcome and plenty of free snacks and drinks will be served :)!
