The College of Education & Human Development's Department of Middle and Secondary Education is hosting the 2026 Glorious HAIR and Identities Conference on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in CEHD room 150.

This interdisciplinary conference invites teachers, students, scholars, theorists, administrators, artists and community members to engage in critical discussions around all aspects, dimensions and types of hair.

There will be a varied style of intellectual work, including but not limited to posters, papers, panels, hair salon, video, visual, music, spoken word, dance and drama.

Presentation Proposals for the 2026 Glorious HAIR and Identities Conference have been extended to May 27, 2026.

Join us in celebrating Uche Osuji, a PhD student in Science Education in the Department of Middle and Secondary Education, who earned the Third Place Graduate Student title at GSU's inaugural CEHD Student Research Poster Session. Uche presented his poster, Characterizing the Ecological Factors Influencing First-Year STEM College Students’ Engagement, and represented MSE with excellence. Uche shared, “Participating in the inaugural CEHD Student Research Poster Session was truly a rewarding experience… Earning this award is a humbling reminder that the stories behind students’ STEM journeys deserve more attention and a deeper understanding.” Congratulations, Uche, on this well-deserved recognition!
