Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy Founded in 1885, the Harrison College of Pharmacy is ranked in the top 25 percent of all Pharmacy Programs by U.S. News & World Report.

The Harrison School of Pharmacy (HSOP) is Alabama’s only public institution charged with educating pharmacists, preparing them to manage patient care today and into the future. Our program is grounded in service-based, primary-care-practice that is collaborative with other health disciplines. HSOP offers a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree program, as well as graduate education programs in Phar

maceutical Sciences with concentrations in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Health Outcomes Research and Policy. The Harrison School of Pharmacy is a global destination for pharmacy education, a hub of educational innovation, a leader in impactful research and scholarship, and a driver of new clinical practice models that transform patient and health systems outcomes. Recognizing HCOP's commitment to rural communities, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation recently awarded the college one of its Inspiring Interest & Opportunities Awards!

The award supports a program titled Rural RxGuidance: A Structured Pharmacy Ambassador Program to Inspire Alabama’s Next Generation of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists. A collaborative team across clinical affairs, outreach, experiential programs, student success, and alumni affairs will engage pharmacists and preceptors in rural communities to be part of the program and provide training and support to maximize impact.

We had an amazing time at ISPOR 2026 in Philadelphia this week! Our students presented posters on a variety of topics, showcasing ways to improve health outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries, those with diabetes, pain management, hypertension, and others.

It was also great to see so many of our graduate program alumni and learn more about the life-changing work they are doing!

Congratulations to our newest P4s, the Class of 2027, on starting their APPE Rotations today! The class is spread throughout the state of Alabama along with select rotations in places like the Indian Health Service in Wyoming and Montana, and a rotation in Thailand.

To celebrate, we are throwing it back a few weeks to the Pinning Ceremony!

We continue to recognize our graduates who matched with residency programs! HCOP had 53 PGY1 matches with a 92.4% match rate for the Class of 2026, as well as 20 PHY2 matches with a 100% match rate!

Those that matched are moving on to 19 different states with 53 staying in Alabama or a bordering state!

Next week, we highlight our graduates moving on to community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, industry, and others.
