GEDI congratulates our Associate Director David Mixson on completing the recent Your Town Alabama - Designing Its Future workshop! AU Outreach is a big supporter of this program with Jeremy Arthur serving on the board of directors and Hollie Campbell Cost being one of the facilitators and many GEDI staff members being program graduates.

Led by planners, graphic designers, architects, engineers, historians, preservationists, and other professionals, the workshop exposes community decision makers to asset-based planning techniques. These techniques focus on identifying ‘what is right’ within a community and building on these unique community assets.

Auburn University has named Jeremy Arthur as Assistant Vice President for AU Outreach Office of Professional and Continuing Education (OPCE), expanding his leadership role within the university’s outreach mission.

In this position, Arthur will provide executive leadership for the Office of Professional and Continuing Education (OPCE), overseeing administrative, financial and academic operations while advancing a wide range of non-credit professional and continuing education programs. He will also continue to provide strategic leadership to the Government & Economic Development Institute (GEDI) through the Vice President for University Outreach.
