The Rivalry for a Reason

As our football teams prepare to face off this afternoon, we are reminded of our united fight against food insecurity in the State of Alabama. For the past 31 years, Auburn University and The University of Alabama have worked together to raise over ELEVEN MILLION pounds of food for families in need. As we stand arm and arm fighting for a better Alabama, we wish both teams the best of luck. Because of you, YES WE CAN! 🥫

On behalf of the Beat Bama Food Drive and the Food Bank of East Alabama, thank you.

Because of your compassion and generosity, we achieved something remarkable: 908,928 pounds of food collected right here in our community.

When combined with our friends at Beat Auburn Beat Hunger, we amassed an incredible total of 1,340,046 pounds of food—a collective act of kindness that will ripple through countless lives.

This achievement is more than just numbers; it’s a reflection of the heart and spirit of those who gave their time, energy, and resources to fight food insecurity. Over the past seven weeks, we witnessed the Auburn Family at its very best. Neighbors showed up for neighbors. Strangers became allies. And every single person who contributed became part of a story bigger than themselves—a story of hope, resilience, and community.

We often talk about the Auburn Family, but what does it truly mean? It means showing up for one another. It means taking action, not because it’s easy, but because it’s right. And through this year’s Beat Bama Food Drive, you proved the power of believing in Auburn and loving it.

But as we close the 2024 campaign, let us remind you: the fight is not over—it has only just begun.

Hunger doesn’t end when our campaign does. For too many families, it’s a daily reality. That’s why we challenge you to continue the fight. The next time you’re at the grocery store, grab an extra can for your local food bank. Volunteer an hour to sort donations or serve a meal. Organize a neighborhood food drive and inspire others to join this mission. Every small act matters.

The Beat Bama Food Drive has never been about rivalry; it’s about rallying for a cause that unites us all. It’s about using the strength of a community to create change that matters. Together, we’ve proven what’s possible when we come together with open hearts and a shared vision for a better world.

Because of you, countless families will have food on their tables. Because of you, hope will feel a little closer for so many. Because of you, we can proudly say, YES WE CAN!

Thank you for believing in us, and thank you for being part of this journey. The fight continues, and with your ongoing support, we know it’s a fight we can win.

With endless gratitude and War Eagle,

Beat Bama Food Drive 2024

Somewhere in Alabama, a single mother makes calculations in her head, planning how long she can stretch what's in her pantry and feed her children.

Somewhere in Alabama, a senior citizen faces a difficult choice between paying for health care and groceries.

Somewhere in Alabama, a child waits eagerly for lunch, knowing that the school meal may be the only meal he gets today.

As we approach the end of the drive this Thursday, November 21st, we are calling on the Auburn Family to help us reach our goal of $100,000 and feed the 60,920 individuals facing food insecurity in the Food Bank of East Alabama's service area. We are currently $2,210 short of our goal.

Even if you have already given this drive, every additional dollar is 7 meals provided free of charge by the Food Bank to an individual in need. Every one dollar will provide a ripple effect changing this community and impacting our Auburn family!

Every. Dollar. Counts.

Can we count on you to feed the single mother, planning how long she can stretch what's in her pantry and feed her children?

Can we count on you to help the senior citizen, facing a difficult choice between paying for health care and groceries?

Can we count on you to support the hungry child, knowing that the school meal may be the only meal they get today?

🧡💙 Auburn Family, it’s time to unite! 💙🧡
In just 22 days, the Beat Bama Food Drive wraps up, and we need our entire Auburn Family to rally in the fight against hunger.

Together, we can make an incredible difference for families in our community who are counting on us this holiday season.

Every $1 you donate provides up to seven meals for families served by the Food Bank of East Alabama. With your support, we can fill tables and warm hearts across our community.

Here’s how you can join us:
➡️ Donate online: aub.ie/bbfd➡️ Purchase BBFD merchandise: aub.ie/bbfdstore – all proceeds go to the Food Bank of East Alabama➡️ Drop off food donations at the Food Bank of East Alabama or in donation bins located throughout our community

Every donation is 100% tax-deductible and goes directly to those who need it most. This drive is about more than a rivalry – it’s about the Auburn Family coming together to support our own. Because we are all Auburn. We are all family.

A HUGE weekend for food donations! Between the WAR EAGLE sign made out of cans that was staged on Samford Lawn and the Neighborhood Collection, a total of 13,822 pounds of food came into the Food Bank. Today this food is being sorted and boxed up to go out into the community. A HUGE thank you to the amazing BBFD team and to Callie Leaver (Food Bank Operations Manager) for all of their hard work bringing in this food.
