Auburn University Master of Real Estate Development

Auburn University Master of Real Estate Development The Executive Master of Real Estate Development program (MRED) delivers a solid, broad-based graduate-level education.

Auburn University’s Master of Real Estate Development program provides business professionals with the theoretical and practical knowledge to produce real estate development projects that emphasize financial sustainability and design excellence. The program emphasizes the best development practices related to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, economic resilience, financial feasi

bility, deal structuring and design excellence. Program delivery is via an executive model and is aimed at practicing professionals, such as those in mortgage banking, construction, design, real estate asset management, finance and law with at least three years of experience. Applicants may also qualify for admission by having five years full-time post-baccalaureate professional work experience. The executive model targets a multiple-discipline approach, giving students an advantage in the face of real estate development’s fast-paced changes. The MRED program also gives students tools they can use immediately in their current practice, while exploring current trends in real estate securitization, finance, law and taxation.

Happy 10th anniversary Auburn MRED!

In 2010, the Harbert College of Business and College of Architecture, Design and Construction partnered to create the Master of Real Estate Development program. Two years later, the first cohort graduated equipped with the skills to plan, finance and build economically sustainable developments. The colleges marked that anniversary with a weekend of alumni events, including a reception, dinner and tailgate. A Sunday brunch provided faculty and alumni a chance to reflect on the program's impact and to celebrate Michael Robinson, former MRED faculty director who has been instrumental in the program's success since its inception.
