Kym Haas Prewitt, a 1986 Auburn University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, has dedicated her career to improving the lives of others. As a teacher, volunteer, advocate and leader, she has made a lasting impact in her community as well as the state of Alabama.
Kym embodies the Auburn Creed, believing in education that "gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully." Her deep love for Auburn University earned her the Pamela Wells Sheffield Award for selfless service and commitment. Kym served as an Alumni Association board member and chair of the College of Education National Alumni Council, among many other volunteer positions across campus.
Her husband, John R. Prewitt III, and their children, Jack, Addie and Billy, share her passion for Auburn University and gifted the naming of the Kym Haas Prewitt Instructional Classroom to her in honor of her retirement from teaching in 2023.
