On Tuesday, UMA welcomed 75 high school students from the Katahdin and Washington County regions to our Bangor campus for a hands-on day of exploration, discovery, and connection.

Students got an inside look at careers that help keep Maine communities strong, while imagining where their own passions and interests could lead them. Throughout the day, they participated in interactive activities, connected with faculty and staff, and explored pathways in nursing, veterinary technology, dental health, medical laboratory technology, and mental health and human services.

A special thank you to Rural Aspirations Project and Executive Director Korah Soll for helping make this experience possible and inspiring the next generation of healthcare and community leaders across Maine!

We’re not quite ready to leave Commencement behind 🎓

On Saturday, Moose graduates crossed the stage at UMA’s 58th Commencement Ceremony.

From healthcare and education to aviation and public service, these graduates are stepping into roles Maine needs right now. Some began their journey straight out of high school, while others balanced careers, families, and coursework along the way. Together, the Class of 2026 reflects the full spectrum of today’s learners and the determination that defines them.

As we close out our 60th anniversary year, this class represents both UMA’s legacy of access and the impact our graduates continue to make across Maine.

Thank you, Class of 2026, for making us proud. Congratulations! 🫎 🎉
