We’ve been thrilled to collaborate with Gallery Director, and the team .acc on the exhibition “Food, Shelter, Water” featuring the work of four Texas-based photographers who address themes related to our most basic human needs. Tomorrow night! ✨

We’re thrilled to share a new collaboration with photographer Bryan Schutmaat on series of conversations and periodic meet-ups to discuss and celebrate photobooks called Photobook Austin.

The first event is Tuesday, February 28th, 6pm at Austin Community College: Highland Campus, in Bldg 2000, Dept of Photography. (The.DPP is on the 1st floor, right at the pass between Building 1000 and 2000)

We’ll have three in-person conversations with artists who have recently published photobooks: Eli Durst and Bryan Schutmaat will discuss The Four Pillars (Loose Joints, 2022) Rahim Fortune and Natalie Zelt will discuss I Can’t Stand to See you Cry (Loose Joints, second edition, 2022) and Sarah Wilson and Sean Perry will discuss her new book, Dig (Yoffy Press, 2022).

Open to all and we’d love to see you, please join us!

Hey art lovers + fans!

Come hang with .DPP along the Austin Studio Tour this Saturday, November 5th from 11am to 4pm. Here’s what on the agenda-

✶ Observe a live fashion photo shoot outside the Photography Department in Building 2000 by Room 1131 in the atrium on Saturday, November 5th from 11am-2pm.

✶ Celebrate our student’s work in our Spring 2022 Exhibition, on display in the skylit atrium in building 1000 on the second floor. All works are for sale. If interested contact The.DPP Program Specialist Matthew Krebs at [email protected].

✶ Check out the 14th Edition of The Picture Review, Serendipity, curated by Alyssa Coppelman, Deputy Art Director at Harper’s Magazine and Art Researcher at the Oxford American. Located upstairs in building 1000 at the North Entrance.

The.DPP team will be around to give tours, talk photography, and answer questions. See ya Saturday!
