New Episode: Season 1 Finale, Austin – Full Circle

In this episode of Phases and Stages: The Texas Energy Story, host Andy Uhler returns to Austin, not just to understand how people here think about the energy transition, but to explore how policymaking in Austin shapes energy outcomes across Texas.

As the state’s political and regulatory hub, Austin plays a central role in determining how the grid evolves, how new energy resources are integrated, and how competing priorities, from reliability to rapid load growth, are balanced. What happens here doesn’t stay here, it influences the entire Texas energy system.

From lawmakers and lobbyists to utilities, experts, and researchers, this episode brings together voices navigating the complex intersection of policy, infrastructure, and markets. Their perspectives highlight the real tensions behind Texas energy: between urban demand and rural impact, speed and certainty, and economics and politics.

Listen as we explore how decisions made in Austin shape the state’s energy portfolio and what that means for the future of Texas communities.
