How do you find your first job right out of college? Just ask our guest Aubri Nowowiejski! The last meeting of the semester is tomorrow night at 7pm in CMA 3.108. Get some good advice and start thinking about your career!

Aubri earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from Texas State University. While in university, Aubri was president of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and the Association for Women in Communications (AWC), in addition to founding SEPA.

This Monday is our first networking event of the semester! Instead of our usual meeting, we will be hosting several professionals from the professional chapter of WCA. They will be answering your questions about how to get your first job, how to get an internship, and much more! Get to know the women working in communications fields in Austin! You never know which connection will lead you to your next job! Business casual attire is suggested.

Audrey Morton is a native and fourth generation Texan reporting all across the Lone Star State from Lubbock to Victoria with a big focus throughout Central Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. She’s worked in television and print, but her first love has always been radio. Audrey lives in Austin with her husband, David, and their cat, Bootsy. In her free time she’s actively involved volunteering with the Junior League of Austin and the Diocese of Austin. She loves to cook, garden and be her neighborhood watchdog. Her favorite topic to report on—crime and breaking news.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Dawna Ballard to our next meeting, this Monday at 7pm in CMA 3.114! Read her bio below.

Dawna Ballard is Associate Professor in the Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin. An expert in chronemics, the study of time as it is bound to human communication, she researches what drives our pace of life and its impact on the communication practices and longterm vitality of organizations, communities, and individuals. Dawna has appeared in a variety of mainstream venues including SXSW, Creative Mornings, and PBS MediaShift. Her research and commentary have been featured at news outlets such as Huffington Post and Medium. She teaches an original course called Time Matters, and serves on the advisory board of Take Back Your Time.
