The University of Texas and LBJ School are leading a 40-hour community-building and fundraising campaign called "40 Hours for the Forty Acres", and this semester we are featuring the LBJ Washington Center.

Through the LBJ Washington Center, the LBJ School offers two pathways to policy leadership in our nation’s capital: the first is a 15-month DC Concentration within the MPAff and MGPS degree programs, and the second is the new option to study foreign policy in DC for one semester. Both options give LBJ students the best of both worlds -- training with the best in Austin and gaining practical experience alongside federal policymakers in Washington, DC.

In addition to the academic program, the LBJ Washington Center is a hub for disseminating research from the LBJ School and UT faculty, bringing together the academic community and public policy practitioners through educational, networking, and social events.

Your support of the Center helps LBJ students and alumni thrive in the nation's capital. Make your gift today!

We only have 40 hours

The LBJ School of Public Affairs alum Stephanie Chiarello is hosting Over the Lege Sept. 16-18, here are the details!

Over the Lege is the number one, and some say only, political satire show based solely on the Texas Legislature. It's a little Saturday Night Live meets Colbert Report meets So You Think You Can Dance. Opening with sketches, the show ends with a legislative celebrity interview with a legislator, journalist, or advocate.

Don't know anything about the Texas Legislature? This show is for you! A Capitol insider? This show is for you!

We decode political headlines, behavior, and nuance into much needed comedic relief. And you might even learn a little about the secrets of the Pink Dome at 1100 Congress Avenue, such as: the Speaker of the House lives at the Capitol; we have a Speaker of the House; and his name is Dade Phelan. He tells great Dade jokes and is always Phelan groovy.

SPECIAL GUESTS!
Friday 8pm - Special Guest - Senator Sarah Eckhardt
Saturday 8pm - Special Guest - State Rep. Gina Hinojosa
Sunday 12pm - Special Guest - Democratic Campaign Consultant James Aldrete

EVENT LOCATION: This event is taking place INSIDE at the Rollins Studio Theatre at the Long Center located at 701 W. Riverside Drive in Austin, TX 78704.

Tickets available at this link: https://thelongcenter.org/events/over-the-lege/

A must-see event! Over the Lege is the number one, and some say only, political satire show based solely on the Texas Legislature. It's a little Saturday Night Live meets Colbert Report meets So You Think You Can Dance. We're just as funny, just not as famous - yet. Opening with sketches, the show e...
