What if cancer’s favorite fuel could be turned against it? 🧬

UT Austin researchers have developed an experimental drug that gives cancer cells a one-two punch. It pushes them to consume more sugar while cutting off their backup fuel source, fat.

The result? Cancer cells are put under intense metabolic stress, while healthy cells are much less affected in early studies.

Meet Everett Etié, the first-place winner of the Gone to Texas Class of 2030 new student video contest! 🤘🏆

Dr. Kavita Radhakrishnan has officially been appointed dean of the The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing after serving as interim dean since March.

An accomplished scientist, educator and leader, Dean Radhakrishnan has been a member of the UT faculty since 2012. She will continue leading the School of Nursing as it advances research, educates the next generation of nurses and scholars and works to improve health and care for communities across Texas and beyond.

Congratulations, Dean Radhakrishnan! 🤘
