DemTex: Student-Led Courses DemTex is a program which provides students the opportunity to design and facilitate a seminar-style

Democratic Education at Texas (DemTex) is a program of the School of Undergraduate Studies and agency of UT's Senate of College Councils which provides students the opportunity to design a syllabus and facilitate a seminar-styled course. DemTex aims to encourage undergraduate curiosity in an academic environment through peer-facilitated, for-credit (pass/fail) courses based on topics chosen by st

udents. The students explore the course topics as a a group while developing their own learning and teaching styles through question-driven, discussion-based classes.
