The Biomedical Engineering Society, or BMES, is both a professional and social organization for students interested in biomedical engineering. The organization strives to promote camaraderie and coherence between members of the biomedical engineering community, to increase awareness of the growing field of BME, and to open doors of opportunity to our members. Membership is open to all students, fa

culty, and staff of the University of Texas at Austin regardless of their area of study. Knowledge: Members learn more about MCAT/LSAT/GRE tests, classes, resume building, research, and internships. Leadership: BMES has several leadership opportunities for both old and new members, including freshmen. Chair positions are appointed in the Fall, and representatives are selected to represent the organization in the Student Engineering Council. Networking: BMES offers networking opportunites with faculty, industry, alumni, and peers. Relax: BMES allows for incoming students as well as current students to meet and interact in a non-academic setting. Our members work hard every day and deserve to have some fun. If you want to join BMES, come to any of our meetings. Meetings are held bi-monthly on Wednesday nights 6:00 pm in BME 3.204! And remember, there's free food! Dues are $10 a year. Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know about the upcoming 2016 BMES Design Competition! The deadline to sign up is February 29th and Kick-Off (when you get the design prompt) is March 1st. Saturday, April 9th is competition day.

There will be cash prizes for the top three designs!

Teams of 3-5 people are allowed. Each team will submit a design proposal and the top teams will be chosen to compete.

This is a great way to get some hands-on robotics/design experience!
