Our Canine and Feline Clinical Management students presented pet care topics to the public during the Discover ACC event hosted by Austin Community College Continuing Education during the CTX Learning Festival event on March 11th. The activity helps students solidify their own understanding of these topics and prepares them to provide client education on the job, and helps pet owners learn how to better care for their furry kids. This is why we love service learning opportunities.

🐾 Hands-on learning, big hearts, and wagging tails! 🐾

Last week, our Veterinary Assistant students in VTHT 1041: Anesthesia and Surgical Assistance, teamed up with their instructor to volunteer at the Round Five GoodFix Spay-Neuter Clinic held at COTA—and wow, what an incredible experience! 🙌

They put classroom skills into action, cared for countless animals recovering from anesthesia, gave back to the community, and discovered even more passion for the work they’re training to do. 💙

Huge thanks to Austin Animal Center, Greater Good Charities, and the program at Austin Community College District for making it possible.

This is exactly what workforce training is all about—learning by doing, making a difference, and loving every minute!
