On November 5th, 2021 our fraternity suffered a great loss when our Hermano Franco Patino, was one of eight people who lost their lives during Astroworld’s mass casualty event in Houston, Texas.
The members of Alpha Psi Lambda- University of Dayton at the University of Dayton (UD) have been working diligently over the past couple of months in collaboration with the university to create an annual scholarship in our Noble Brothers name.
The National Executive Board and National Foundation of Alpha Psi Lambda are working together to achieve the goal of reaching $20,000. The funds raised would then establish a current-use scholarship in memory of Franco. This scholarship will impact Multi-Ethnic students majoring in engineering at UD, with first consideration given to a student involved in either the Alpha Nu Chapter of Alpha Psi Lambda National, Inc. or UD’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). Selected students will possess many of the strong leadership and service traits personified by Franco, through how he lived and how he loved.
