For many new college students, freshman year can be an exciting and daunting experience. The Office of Freshman Development is ready to help freshmen and their families transition to college life.

-Coordinate Orientation and other activities to ease your way during your freshman year.
-Advise Phi Eta Sigma (Freshman Honor Society) a national honor society for freshman students who display superio

r academic ability (GPA 3.5 or higher) and performance.
-Monitor freshman grades and assists freshmen with finding tutors when needed.

Spend Labor Day weekend on campus!! Our first Freshman Weekend program is being hosted this Saturday @ 7pm in the Towers MPR 🖌 Come make your own residence hall + room decor while enjoying buff chicken dip and a sangria spritz mocktail! Food is up for grabs for the first 50 people attending!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we were SO ecstatic when RA Maddie S. asked us to collaborate with her for the now, 2nd Annual, Build-Your-Own Bouquet event! 💐⁣

First-year students got a chance to build their own bouquet with florals from a local Pittsburgh florist shop to keep in their residence hall rooms!⁣

This Friday is the Annual Night of Lights Celebration! ⁣

Starting at 4:30 at the Union fountain — enjoy festive activities, carriage rides, photos with Santa, and watch as President Gormley lights the campus 🎄⁣

Directly following the lighting of campus, there will be fun crafty activities in the Africa Room on the 3rd floor of the Union, caroling, a photo booth, dinner served by in the Duquesne Union Ballroom! ⁣
