SFSC’s Farmworker Career Development Program helps migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents in Highlands, Hardee, and DeSoto counties receive technical training and develop working skills for a lucrative career. By participating in this program, migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families can achieve economic self-sufficiency, better pay, and a stable employment future. Counse

Job skills training to learn the skills for the job you want
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to help you learn English
Basic skills training in reading, writing, and math
Help earning your General Educational Development (GED) high school equivalency diploma
Support services and financial aid
Job readiness training to help you find, apply for, and keep a good job
How Can You Qualify for the FCDP? You, your parents, or your spouse have received at least 50 percent of your total earned income from farm work within the past 24 months. These requirements apply to all participants:

You receive public assistance or meet certain income eligibility requirements. citizen, eligible non-citizen or Deferred Action for childhood Arrivals (DACA). You have registered with Selective Service if you are a male ages 18-26.

You can make your purchase at the SFSC Bookstore on the Highlands Campus in Avon Park. The final date to place an order is Thursday, Nov. 3.
