The Cal State Bakersfield women's golf team opened its 2026-27 season with a fourth-place finish at the UNC Bear Crawl Tuesday at Greeley Country Club.

Freshman Melay Dittrich led the `Runners in her collegiate debut, finishing third individually at three-over 216. Dittrich carded rounds of 75 (+4), 71 (E) and 70 (-1), resetting the program record for a debut tournament score.

A pair of Roadrunners earned weekly honors from The Big West on Monday, being recognized as the top-performing men's soccer players in the league. Filip Arras took home Defensive Player of the Week honors while Lorimer Bouman was tabbed as Rookie of the Week.

The Cal State Bakersfield women's soccer team fell 1-0 to San Diego on Sunday at Torero Stadium. A late first-half goal proved to be the difference as the Roadrunners were unable to find an equalizer.

Freshman Anna Bacchin hit .500 with 17 kills as Cal State Bakersfield rebounded from the Friday night's loss to hand previously unbeaten Weber State its first defeat (25-14, 25-17, 18-25, 25-27, 15-11) Saturday at the Icardo Center. The `Runners improved to 3-3 while earning Head Coach Kristen Wright her 200th career win.

The Cal State Bakersfield cross country team opened the 2026 season with a solid showing at Pepperdine's Waves Invitational. The Roadrunners raced the 4k course while posting three times in the CSUB Top 10 records.

Cal State Bakersfield Head Softball Coach Jenny Topping has announced the addition of Daisy Muñoz to the Roadrunners' coaching staff as an assistant coach heading into the 2027 season.

Jenny Topping on Daisy Muñoz: "I'm excited to welcome Daisy to our Roadrunner family. A four-time All-Big West selection, Big West Champion and standout at Cal State Fullerton, Daisy brings a championship mentality, high-level knowledge of the game and a genuine passion for developing student-athletes. Her experience competing at the highest levels of the Big West, as well as professionally and internationally, brings a unique perspective that will be invaluable to our players. I know she'll make an immediate impact both on and off the field, and I'm thrilled to have her alongside us as we build something special at CSUB."
