This Thursday! Come out, hear some wonderful music, and help us send the 25/26 Season out with a bang!

The year is winding down- and that means it is almost time for our annual Theatre Awards! This year- we're doing something different. On Thursday, May 7th, 2026- Baker Choirs and Bands are collaboration for the second annual Baker Pops Concert in Rice Auditorium! At the conclusion of the concert, we will take a short intermission, and then come back and present awards for both the Theatre an Choral Departments for the accomplishments during the 2025/2026 school year. Come out for some great music, and stick around to honor some of our outstanding student artists at Baker!

We had a memorable opening night for A PUPPET SHOW FOR THE END OF THE WORLD- not only did we have a fantastic and responsive crowd… but mere minutes after bows, the tornado siren went off in Baldwin! We all rushed down to the basement, where we were joined by members of the community, their pets, and some actors were even still in makeup! While down there, a small ensemble from the music department even serenaded us with a beautiful version of “Mr. Sandman!” Most importantly, everyone was safe. Don’t miss your opportunity to catch the last three performances, tonight and tomorrow at 7:30, and Sunday at 2:00 PM! Free Admission! Photos by Frank Perez

Lots of folks have been asking us: Where is Darby Hope Theatre? Well, we’re here to help!

Darby Hope Theatre is located on the second floor of historical Parmenter Hall. Parmenter Hall is located just behind Rice Auditorium and Owens Music Building, which is located at the corner of Dearborn and 8th Street in Baldwin City. Look for the building with the American Flag on its top tower, with the ornate stained glass windows on the side!

Parking is available behind Rice and Owens, and you can get there by going between the two stone columns listed in the picture. To get in the building, find the green tiled awning, go down the four steps to your left, and take the elevator to second floor, where we will be there to greet you!

It’s here! Opening night for the world premier of A PUPPET SHOW FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, Written and Directed by Rene Lyons! Doors open at 7, with a curtain time of 7:30. Admission is free and the show is in historic Darby Hope Theatre in Parmenter Hall. We hope to see you there!

Baker Theatre has arrived in chilly Rochester, Minnesota for the Region 5 meeting of the American College Theatre Festival! Last night, during the opening of the festival, several accolades were awarded in honor of our productions! Victoria Love was honored for Song Composition for VAMPIRE COWBOY TRILOGY, Caelan Rogers was honored for Lighting Design on ALMOST MAINE, Madelyn Christopher was honored for Stage Management on ALMOST MAINE, Mya Dunn was honored for her direction of ALMOST MAINE, and Director of Theatre Trevor Belt was honored for his Graphic Design and Sound Design work on VAMPIRE COWBOY TRILOGY. Congrats to everyone!
