In recognition of Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, the Phi Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® invited family members who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a loved one to su***de to share their voices, their memories, and the impact that loss has left behind.

These aren't just stories. These are mothers, fathers, siblings, children, relatives, and friends speaking from a place no family ever wants to know.

Their message is simple:
💚 You matter.
💚 You are loved.
💚 Your absence would leave a space that can never truly be filled.
💚 Help is available. Please talk to someone.

And for the rest of us—check on your people. Listen without judgment. Pay attention. Ask the question. Make the call. Sometimes the person who appears to be the strongest may be carrying more than we know.

We are incredibly grateful to every family who trusted us with their stories and allowed us to honor the lives and memories of those they love.

💗💚 Reconnecting. Reminiscing. Reclaiming Sisterhood.💚💗

The weather may have changed some plans, but it certainly didn’t dampen the sisterhood! 🩷

We enjoyed a beautiful evening of good food, great conversation, lots of laughter, and simply enjoying one another’s company at our Reactivation Dinner.

Sometimes, you don’t need an agenda or activities—you just need time around the table with your sisters. 💕 We’re grateful for every soror who joined us and look forward to welcoming more of our sisters home to Phi Rho Omega. 💗💚

💗💚 Our theme for this year’s chapter retreat was “Refill Your Cup: Renew, Refresh, Reconnect”💗💚

It was truly about more than just the sessions—it was about connecting, laughing, relaxing, and simply enjoying each other’s company.💕

Sometimes we need to pause from the business of life and sisterhood and just BE together. Yesterday reminded us all how special the bond we share truly is.

We are looking forward to a NEW YEAR filled with growth, love, laughter, connection, and unforgettable moments together!✨

💗 Sister Spotlight 💚

Zana, a Spring 2024 initiate of the Phi Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, has quickly become a shining example of service and sisterhood. She currently serves as Chair of Empower Our Families and Advocate for Social Justice, while also serving as Co-Chair of Scholarship and Pearls of PROminence, in addition to supporting many other chapter initiatives.

As the devoted mother of two little ones, Zana gracefully balances family, career, and chapter service with a heart full of love and purpose. She consistently demonstrates unwavering dedication, genuine sisterliness, and a willingness to serve wherever she is needed. Her positive spirit, servant leadership, and commitment to uplifting others make her a true blessing to Phi Rho Omega.

We are grateful to celebrate and spotlight Soror Zana for the impact she continues to make in our chapter and our community.
