Our Story

The UMBC Observatory sits atop the Physics building at our campus in Catonsville, MD. The observatory houses a 0.81 meter telescope that can be used for real-time and robotic astronomical observations, research, and teaching. The observatory is accessible to the public during specific open house events and to students, teachers, and researchers by appointment.
