The American Landscape Institute (ALI) and the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) have joined together to create a 2 year college certificate program for high school graduates. The Institute is a first-of-its-kind training and development program for the horticulture and landscape industry. The owners of leading landscape and nursery companies in the Baltimore area have come together to

offer mentoring, hands-on field experience, and an 80% scholarship for quality education from The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). Program graduates will have the management training to serve as a first-line supervisor for their sponsor company. Here’s how the American Landscape Institute (ALI) works:
 -Apply to the American Landscape Institute (ALI) employment and scholarship program
 -Match with a leading Baltimore area landscape or nursery company
 -Start working for your sponsor company in June
 -Receive an 80% scholarship from your sponsor company to attend the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) in September
 -Work Monday – Thursday for your sponsor company. Attend classes at CCBC every Friday
 -Become highly skilled in advanced landscape and horticulture techniques
 -Earn 39 college credits and a 2 Year Certificate in Landscape Design and Installation
 -Become qualified to be a first-line supervisor for your sponsor company when you complete the program

Scholarship alert for an opportunity of a lifetime!

Applications for the Chanticleer USA Christopher Lloyd Scholarship are being accepted until November 1. The Scholarship supports a horticulturist to study at Great Dixter in East Sussex, England and at Chanticleer in Wayne, Pennsylvania. This one-year placement includes 11 months at Great Dixter and one month at Chanticleer, providing an opportunity to develop practical skills and the 'sense of place' needed to manage complex, innovative gardens.

This training opportunity was established to inspire a future generation of top-notch North American gardeners. Qualified applicants will have completed horticultural training, be looking for an immersive experience to advance their knowledge of plants, design and organizational excellence, and be U.S. citizens.
