Our seniors have hit the ground running in Week 2, jumping right into surgical and large animal labs. For some, this was their very first experience handling a horse.

In Surgery II, students practiced performing a sterile prep for a hanging leg procedure using our newest high-tech model, “Syd” (more on that soon!). The hanging leg technique is a specialized method that allows surgical technicians to prepare a limb for orthopedic procedures with precision and consistency.

As the instructor for both courses, Dr. Myers begins each session with a live demonstration, helping students connect their lecture knowledge directly to hands-on lab practice.
