Very exciting news for us…

Lees-McRae College receives bronze rating from AASHE's STARS Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System.

As part of our institutional emphasis on sustainability, we recently participated in Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System (STARS) ranking from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). After filling out the report, we received a bronze rating!

So honored to be a part of the Lees-McRae College’s most memorable moments of 2021!

Excited for all that is to come with Sustain LMC in the next year…

Sustainability has always been important to Lees-McRae, and this year we saw an increased focus on caring for our campus, community, and planet. Among other highlights, the League of American Bicyclists upgraded our bicycle-friendly status from Silver to Gold and in October we joined colleges and universities around the country for Campus Sustainability Month.

All of the hard work of clubs, students, and faculty at Lees-McRae this semester paid off for the future of sustainability on our campus! huge thank you to everyone who came out to the gear swap this evening! we’re so glad we could have been a part of it. thank you to everyone who organized this event to help raise money for some sweet new sustainability initiatives on campus in an effort to be more collectively environmentally friendly🥰🌿 we have recycling, water bottle filling stations, and plenty of other cool projects in the works. keep an eye out for more gear/clothing swaps to come, likely in april, for more great ways to get new things in a more sustainable fashion!
