The 4th blood drive of the academic year is Thursday, April 30, from 9:00am - 2:00pm in the Forum.

All blood donors at our January drive will receive a Buffalo SABRES t-shirt.

Join Athletics, SE&I, and Human Resources for the 15th Annual United Way Duck Derby on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 12:30pm in the GCC Pool. The race will be start promptly at 12:45pm.

Ducks can be purchased starting Monday, April 6, 2026, in the following locations:

Weekdays in the SE&I Office S115: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Tuesday and Thursday in Merchant Cove or Cafeteria: 12:30pm - 2:00pm
Student Stops throughout all campus departments throughout the month of April

A portion of the proceeds will go to the 3 winners in the GCC community and the remaining balance to the United Way. Purchases include:

1 Duck for $2.00
3 Ducks for $5.00

Let the race begin!

Please join the Library and SE&I this Monday, March 2, for a SEUSS-tastic Storytime as we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss! It’s the place to be, you’ll see! Enjoy surprise guest readers, tasty treats, and plenty of smiles and glee.

Keep an eye out for GCC Thing 1, GCC Thing 2, and maybe even a few more Things joining the fun!

Native American Heritage Month is observed in November to celebrate and acknowledge the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Native Americans.

It provides an opportunity for reflection, education, and recognition of the cultural heritage and continuing contributions of Native American communities.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the 5th Annual Fight Against Hunger Games Competition. The generosity and spirit of our GCC community is truly inspiring.

All donations will directly support our students through the GCC Student Food Pantry. As a community there was 12,386 points donated. Please see attached photos of some of the items donated.

What a close race this year! Only 169 points stood between first and second place, and we saw a wave of last-minute donations come in on Friday, October 31.

And the winner is………..Athletics.

In addition to their generous food and hygiene donations, it’s worth highlighting that the Athletic Department’s coaching staff collectively contributed $1,400 in gift cards from their respective programs to support the GCC Student Food Pantry. These funds will help purchase essential items for students in need including perishable goods such as butter, eggs, meat, and other refrigerated or frozen items.

The Athletic department will be awarded their plaque soon.

Thank you again for your amazing support of the GCC Student Food Pantry.

This is the last email update on the standings. The SE&I Office will be closing the 5th Annual Fight Against Hunger Games today at 4:30pm, Friday, October 31, 2025.

Any donations received after that time will not be included in the final standings. SE&I will review all donations, and the winner will be announced on Monday, November 3.
