Auditions for the Lyon College Harlequin Theatre’s production of William Shakespeare’s “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 in Holloway Theatre.

Auditions are open to all Lyon students. No previous theater experience or audition preparation is required.

Rehearsals will begin Sept. 13, with performances scheduled for Oct. 22-25. The director will work around students’ scheduling conflicts to the extent possible, but all cast members must be available throughout the performance run.

The Harlequin Theatre, now in its 101st year, is the oldest academic theater company in Arkansas.

Paragould resident Al Bromberg will share his father’s remarkable Holocaust survival story at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in Nucor Auditorium in the Lyon Business and Economics Building at Lyon College.

The free event is open to the public.

Harry Bromberg, born in Poland in 1919, was a shoemaker who survived nine N**i work, concentration and death camps. His story of survival, perseverance and loss is told through the perspective of his son.

“Generation to Generation: Dignity” is part of the award-winning Generation to Generation documentary series by BNB Productions, created to preserve Holocaust history and pass its lessons from one generation to the next.

The Lyon College Convocation event will offer an opportunity to listen, learn and remember while honoring the stories of Holocaust survivors.

Our Scots had a GREAT Sunday at Archery Tag!

A huge thank-you to Coach Travis Linville and the archery team for an evening full of fun, friendly competition and plenty of action!

But the fun doesn’t stop there!

It was a HOT one at Bad Boy Mowers Stadium on Saturday! With temperatures topping 100 degrees, a near-sellout crowd packed the stands to welcome our Fighting Scots to the 2026 season.

The Scots battled the East Texas Baptist University Tigers through the heat, ultimately falling 58–7. While the result wasn’t what we wanted, the game-day energy was undeniable.

Our cheer and dance team kept the crowd fired up, while the Scots marching band brought the sound and spirit that make Lyon game days special.

Players battled. Fans showed up. Scots spirit was everywhere.

0–1 is just the start. Let’s keep showing up and supporting our Scots!

On Nov. 10, the Lyon College School of Dental Medicine in Little Rock will host Give Veterans a Smile, a free dental clinic providing much-needed care to veterans.

For too many veterans, access to dental care remains out of reach. This clinic is an opportunity to honor their service in a very tangible way, by helping provide the care they need.

But Lyon College School of Dental Medicine cannot do it alone. Community donations will help cover the cost of dental supplies, treatment and other expenses needed to make this clinic possible.

Every gift, regardless of size, can help a veteran receive care, feel valued and leave with a healthier smile.

A BIG ROAD WIN FOR THE SCOTS!

Congratulations to the Lyon College men’s soccer team on a strong road victory over the Hardin-Simmons University Cowboys!

The Scots found the back of the net in both periods of play, battling through a tough matchup against a strong Cowboys squad.

With the win, Lyon stands at 1-1-1 to start the season.
