The Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout
the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the
Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than

200,000 predominately Black college educated
women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. Baton Rouge Delta proudly recognizes Erica J. Washington as our May Soror of the Month!

Soror Washington continues to exemplify the true spirit of Delta through her steadfast leadership, commitment to service, and unwavering dedication to the success of our chapter.

As Chair of the Elections Committee, Soror Washington led with professionalism, integrity, and grace throughout the election process. Working collaboratively with her committee, she ensured that all voting procedures were conducted with fidelity, fairness, and transparency. Her exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively pivot when challenges arose allowed the chapter’s elections to be carried out smoothly and efficiently without issue.

We proudly celebrate Soror Erica J. Washington for her outstanding contributions and thank her for the impact she continues to make within our chapter.
