Last Friday, the LSU Gordon A. Cain Center Summer Academy wrapped up its final day! ☀️

These past two weeks, students had the opportunity to problem-solve 💭 and think creatively 🎨 in a variety of subjects, including Anatomy, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Game Design, E-Sports, and Sound Design.

On top of exploring new interests, students got to visit the River Parishes Community College, Entergy Louisiana’s River Bend Station Training Center and had some fun at Top Golf! ⛳️ Plus, our residential students got a glimpse into life on the LSU campus! 🐯

Overall, we want to extend a huge thanks to all the wonderful people 👩🏻‍🏫 that worked hard to make the 2026 Summer Academy run smoothly! And to the students who participated, we hope you left with lasting memories and new friendships! 🌟

Awarding grants up to $2,000 to Louisiana PK-12 public school teachers 👩🏽‍🏫, submit your proposal now! Submissions are due Sunday, September 6th, 2026 at 11:59PM. 🗓️

Need some help getting started? We offer free, virtual 👩🏻‍💻 proposal writing workshops that provide step-by-step guidance, offering a detailed overview of each application section! 📝

The LSU Gordon A. Cain Center and the Capital Area STEM Network were delighted to participate in this year's Louisiana Department of Education Teacher Leader Summit, where BIG IDEAS begin! 💡

We were happy to have had the opportunity to share our amazing programs with educators from around the state. 👩🏻‍🏫 And we are grateful to everyone who brought a little piece of our STEM programs back to their schools.
