Delta International University of New Orleans (DIU) is fully accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC).
ASIC is an independent United Kingdom body which provides an accreditation service for independent further and higher education colleges and Universities worldwide. It is recognized by the United Kingdom Department for Education and Skills (DfES), the United Kingdom Department for Universities, Innovation and Skills (DUIS), the United Kingdom Border and Immigration Agency (Home Office), the United Kingdom Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). ASIC is a member of Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Quality Group (CIOG). ASIC is a full member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies of Higher Education. (INQAAHE).
ASIC accreditation gives reassurance to potential students, their parents and education representatives that the operation of their chosen college conforms with relevant United Kingdom laws and offers genuine courses, which are delivered to appropriate standards with acceptable quality, and which lead to recognized qualifications with international standards. ASIC Accreditation also provides reassurance to the Border and Immigration Agency (Home Office) that the college meets their requirements for overseas students and, in general, does not harm the perceived quality of the United Kingdom education provision.

DIU Accreditation: On the 8 of February 2013, DIU received the Full Accreditation from ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Colleges). ASIC is a recognized accrediting organization in the UK. www.asic.org.uk.

What is the nature of DIU Educational Operation:
in the USA, having an Approval, or Recognition for an Institution, does not mean Accreditation. To have an Accreditation, an Institution first receives an Approval from a local State, and should operate for at least 2 years, if not 3, to be considered then as eligible to apply for Accreditation. During this period of time, the Institution should operate.
Never an Accrediting State Recognized Organization (as ACICS, or DETC, for example), would give an Accreditation to an Institution in the USA, if the Institution has no operations, means no experience in teaching, student recruitment and program quality. DIU is in this process.

Students can receive more information on this matter, by visiting the DETC and/or ACICS website or by calling them. Also, you can check with CHEA, at: www.chea.org.
DIU Approval has been received in 2009 (http://www.delta-university.org/?P=about_approval), and it goes up to May 2012, and DIU, for a period of 2 up to 3 years, is obliged to apply for Accreditation from a US State Recognized Accrediting Body. If there is a delay, the Approval could be renewed, only under certain valid reasons and conditions.
Before receiving Accreditation, the Institution is considered as Recognized, but not Accredited. This is the case of DIU.
DIU, since 2009, has been in the process of Accreditation. This is the regulation of the Board of Regents, State of Louisiana, USA
