One of the most meaningful traditions of LSU Staff Senate is the passing of the gavel at the final meeting of the academic year, symbolizing the transition of leadership and continued commitment to serving staff across the university.

President Quinneka McDonald proudly passed the gavel to Dr. Tammy Millican, who has been elected as the 51st President of LSU Staff Senate.

Congratulations, Dr. Millican! We are excited for the 2026–2027 academic year and look forward to the continued advocacy, engagement, and support of LSU staff under your leadership. Here’s to another great year of serving and supporting LSU staff!

The LSU Staff Senate Executive Committe met with Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost Troy Blanchard.

It has been a wonderful year engaging with the Office of Academic Affairs and Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost Blanchard.

His support of the LSU Staff Senate and understanding the impact of staff members to the student experience has been critical in showing how staff help build teams that win.

The Staff Senate President Quinneka McDonald and President-Elect Tammy Millican recently joined Faculty Senate President Daniel Tirone in meeting with President Rousse to discuss Resolution 26-01, which advocates for a system-wide dependent tuition benefit.

We are excited about the momentum surrounding this initiative and look forward to continued collaboration as we explore opportunities to enhance employee benefits across the LSU System.

These conversations provide a valuable opportunity to share staff perspectives, discuss campus priorities, and strengthen collaboration across LSU. We appreciate Chancellor Dalton’s time, engagement, and commitment to hearing directly from staff representatives.

LSU Staff Senate was honored to host the staff forums for the search process for LSU’s next Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost.

We appreciate the staff who joined in-person, attended virtually or viewed the forums at a later time.

Staff have been invited across the LSU enterprise to share feedback on the finalists. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will remain open through Wednesday, May 20.

Join us tomorrow to hear from the third candidate for the search for LSU’s next Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost. Clifford L. Henderson, dean of the Lee J. Styslinger Jr. College of Engineering at the University of Alabama and a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
