Every year, we celebrate and honor the life of Ross Ziegelasch. Although he left this Earth way too soon, LSU and the world is a much better place because of his passion for sustainability.

In 2016, Ross wrote and helped pass the Student Government bill that established the Student Sustainably Fund. SSF awards funding annually to students, faculty, and staff for campus sustainability projects. These projects have transformed the LSU campus, and given countless students the opportunity to learn more about sustainable practices.

In 2021, the Student Sustainability Fund Committee formally changed the name of the fund to the Ross Ziegelasch Student Sustainability Fund to honor his memory.

Ross leaves a legacy of environmental stewardship, and he is an inspiration to us all.

Without his ingenuity, perseverance and dedication, the sustainability fund would not exist.

We are forever grateful to him, and he is missed every single day. 💜

LSU is participating in the National Wildlife Federation Game Day Recycling Challenge again this year.

Help us beat the green out of those Gators and take the Green title by recycling your cans and bottles in designated recycling bins around campus while tailgating this weekend.

There will be extra recycling bins placed out near Patrick F. Taylor Hall, the Law Center, S.Quad & Nicholson, and near Matherne’s.

To request bags at tailgates outside of these locations, e-mail [email protected]!
