Join the LSU College of Human Sciences & Education for our College-Wide Day of Service on Saturday, October 24, in celebration of National Make a Difference Day 2026.

CHSE students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are invited to participate in volunteer opportunities, community projects, donations and other acts of service at locations including the Family & Youth Service Center, LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool, LSU Food Pantry, Magnolia Rose Foundation and St. Vincent de Paul.

Join the round tables of the American Library Association (GameRT, FMRT, MAGIRT, IFRT, and IRRT) for a day of interactive sessions about how libraries are surviving - and addressing - existential threats. We will discuss climate change, depictions of end-times in fiction, the precarity of digital media, and gaming out the apocalypse.

From 11:15am-12:30am, IRRT & MAGIRT will host a presentation from Dr. Edward Benoit III, Dr. Jill Trepanier, and Reilly Corkran on the PROTECT-GLAM (Providing Risk of The Environment’s Changing Climate Threats for Galleries, Libraries, Archives & Museums) project.
