Jasper County Center recently partnered with the Jasper TIOCH Community Association to offer a free smartphone class for senior citizens.

The goal was simple: make smartphone technology easier to understand! Our seniors received easy-to-follow instructions in a friendly and supportive environment, with volunteers from our Smart Start class there to lend a helping hand. 🙌

We’re proud to partner with our community and help make technology a little less intimidating—and a lot more accessible! 💙

We were happy to welcome two students from South Jones High School, along with Bayle Morris, South Jones Career Coach, for a visit to learn more about our Lineman Program.

The students met with Keri Read, Workforce Navigator, and Sidney Tally, CDL Instructor, and toured our training areas.

We were excited to welcome Makisha Keyes, Career Coach for Heidelberg High School, and Jeannine Agee, Career Coach for Bay Springs High School, along with Frankie Johnson from East Mississippi State Hospital, for a tour of our campus and programs! 🎓✨

During their visit, they had the opportunity to learn more about the career programs and see the opportunities available to students. Even better, they ran into some of their past students who are now continuing their journeys in their chosen career programs! ❤️

There’s nothing quite like seeing students after high school and watching them take the next step toward their future. It’s always a joy to see where their hard work and experiences have taken them!

Phillip Manning, Craft Training Manager with Yates, recently visited our Welding students to share valuable industry insights and career opportunities.

He spoke about the importance of earning NCCER certifications and how they can help students build successful careers in the skilled trades. Phillip also highlighted the many opportunities Yates offers to students entering the workforce.

To help our students continue developing their skills, he generously provided welding coupons for additional practice.
