Today marks an important milestone in your journey toward becoming occupational therapy practitioners. Your dedication, perseverance, and commitment to serving others have brought you to this special moment. The pin you receive today represents not only your hard work and accomplishments but also the compassion, professionalism, and advocacy that define the occupational therapy profession.

We are incredibly proud of all that you have achieved and excited to see the difference you will make in the communities you serve.

Today, UC Occupational Therapy Assistant students and faculty had the privilege of volunteering with the Special Needs No Limit Invitational at Woodrow Wilson High School.

We are so proud of our students for showing compassion, encouragement, and servant leadership while supporting athletes, families, and the community. Opportunities like this reflect the heart of occupational therapy — promoting participation, inclusion, and meaningful engagement for all.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a positive and memorable experience!

This OT Month, our OTA students are sharing their “why.”

From a passion for helping others to a love for hands-on, holistic care, each story is different but the goal is the same. Making a real difference in people’s lives.

We are proud of the future practitioners they are becoming.

Our OTA students got creative and made a TikTok to help study the Rancho Los Amigos Levels of Cognitive Functioning!

A fun and engaging way to bring the content to life and make it stick. Proud of their creativity and teamwork! 👏

🌟 OTA STUDENT SPOTLIGHT🌟

And last but not least......Meet Elly Withrow from Beckley, WV! 🎉Elly chose the OTA Program because she was drawn to the holistic approach we use in occupational therapy.

📘 Her favorite class? Pediatrics! Where creativity, compassion, and play come together to make a lasting impact on children’s lives.

💭 Her future goal? To work in pediatrics in any setting, helping kids grow, succeed, and thrive wherever they are!

🏃‍♀️ Fun fact: Elly ran track in high school, and she brings that same determination and endurance into her OTA journey today!

🎨 Her favorite hobby is drawing, a perfect reflection of her creativity and ability to see the world in a unique way.

Her friends and family describe her as kind, and we can definitely vouch for that in the OTA Program.

Her favorite quote says it best: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” ✨

Elly, your kindness, creativity, and passion for holistic care make you a future OTA superstar. One thing about Elly is that her passion shines through in everything she does! You’re capable of more than you know! 👏

Last week our OTA students had the privilege of hearing from John Horn, a local business owner, who shared a powerful real world perspective on stepping into the role of a full time caregiver.

He offered honest insight into the challenges, responsibilities, and emotional side of caregiving, giving our students a deeper understanding of what many clients and families experience every day.

We are grateful for his willingness to share his story and help prepare our students for the realities of practice.
