Signum Academy offers clubs for kids and teens (K-12) to engage with reading, writing and language skills. Among the clubs we offer are:
Signum Academy Book Club – Members read books and then join in online discussions in a group of up to ten people their age. Book Club groups are led by a qualified instructor who facilitate conversations and provide prompts for discussion and consideration. Book
s to be read are chosen by members from a list of age-appropriate works provided by the group leader. Members will learn critical reading skills, as well as collaborative discussion and debate skills. Signum Academy Writing Club – Members can learn how to express themselves through different styles of writing. Each week, they will receive prompts and ideas from their group leader, then during the online discussions, they will present and discuss each other's writings. In addition to learning writing, editing, and revision skills, members will learn how to give and receive constructive feedback. Signum Academy Language Club – There are two variations of the Language Club: Conversation Club and Translation Club. In Conversation Club, members will participate in an immersive language-learning experience to develop and improve their conversational skills in a foreign language. In Translation Club, members will learn techniques to use in translating foreign, extinct, and constructed languages. Both clubs focus not only the specific language being taught, but also on the skills needed to acquire conversation or translation capabilities for other languages as well. In addition to our clubs, Signum Academy also offers free monthly discussions on children's and YA literature through the Signum University Twitch channel (twitch.tv/signumu).
