iness skills and ensure Mississippi workers have the skills needed to compete in today's globally competitive environment. Training is provided to area employers when specific employee skills need to be developed, improved or enriched to keep up with production or technological advances. The ultimate goal of the workforce program is to develop a seamless workforce training system that ensures the presence of a highly skilled workforce, thereby advancing the economic prosperity of the region by supporting existing industries as well as creating new high-skill and high-wage job opportunities for job seekers. Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program helps finance training for eligible participants through On-The-Job-Training, Individual Training Accounts, and Supportive Service federal funding on state approved academic, technical, and vocational training programs.
