How to apply:

�Fill out your FASFA online at www.FAFSA.gov to apply for Financial Aid

You will be applying for PELL grant. This is NOT a loan but a grant you do not pay back. It is income based.

�Wait... 5 days for you Financial Aid to Process then call our Financial Aid Officer (Deborah Johnson ) at 606-949-6090 or 606-519-3610. She will instruct you if there’s other s

teps you need to take.

�Come by Appalachian Beauty School at Belfry, Ky to fill out an Application

�Schedule your interview with director (Mrs. McCracken)

�Bring your application fee of $100.00 (this must be paid before starting classes and is not covered by PELL)

�Bring a valid ID (drivers license), Social Security Card and High School Diploma or GED.

At Appalachian Beauty School, graduation doesn’t end the relationship with our students m. We love supporting our students as they enter the workforce and build successful careers.

Amia Fouch was one of our outstanding students, so it comes as no surprise to see her already thriving with a wonderful salon family at Just Teasin Salon in Belfry! This salon is owned by Tina Todd, another Appalachian Beauty School graduate, who has built a successful business that creates opportunities for other cosmetologists in our community.

This weekend, our owner/director had the opportunity to receive a pedicure from Amia, and she done an amazing job. If you’re looking to get your toes fresh for sandal season, go see her!

Happy Mother’s Day from Appalachian Beauty School 🤍

To the moms raising babies, the grandmothers guiding generations, the stepmoms, bonus moms, bonus Grammys, adoptive moms, mothers-to-be, and the women who love others with a mother’s heart, today is for you too.

We also want to hold space for those who may find today difficult. To anyone grieving a mother, missing a child, navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, or still waiting and praying for their turn, you are seen and thought of today.

Wishing love, peace, and comfort to everyone this Mother’s Day. 🌷

Congratulations to our latest Appalachian Beauty School graduate, Whytni Elizabeth

1500 hours later, she has taken a huge step closer to becoming a licensed cosmetologist.

As always, we want to thank Whytni for being a part of Appalachian Beauty School. Every student that walks through our doors plays a role in building our school community. We do not take a single student for granted. Each journey matters, each hour matters, and every bit of growth along the way is something we are proud to be part of.

Whytni has shown passion, determination, and a real drive for the beauty industry. She is ready to take the next step and begin her career behind the chair.

What is next for Whytni? She plans to move back to Florida and begin building her cosmetology career there. She will be offering services including color, blonding, and event makeup as she starts her professional journey.

Throughout her time in school, Whytni faced challenges and still continued to push forward with dedication. Even with a long commute and the demands of the program, she stayed committed to reaching her goal and completing her hours.

We are proud of her perseverance and the growth she has shown along the way.

We wish Whytni nothing but success in this next chapter. It is always our goal to see every graduate step into their future with confidence and achieve their dreams.

We’d like to thank Teresa Cox for taking the time to share her knowledge with our cosmetology students.

Teresa served as a State Board Inspector for 13 years, working closely with schools to ensure compliance and uphold industry standards. After retiring, she discovered a passion for skincare and found a line she truly believes in.

She introduced our students to Neora, a skincare brand known for its anti-aging and skin wellness products, and shared valuable insight on product benefits, ingredients, and real-world client education.

We appreciate her continued dedication to the beauty industry and for investing in the next generation of cosmetologists.
