Public Health doesn't start in hospitals. It starts with what people know, believe, an do.

That's the work of Health Promotion & Education.

It's not just about sharing information- it's about helping people make decisions tha support their lives, their communities, and their futures.

If you’ve ever cared about:
• Making a real impact
• Preventing health challenges before they start
• Turning knowledge into action

You’re already closer to this work than you think.

This isn’t extra.
This is the strategy behind real health improvements and healthier communities.

From the Pacific Northwest to the nation’s capital ✨

Grateful to have spent time in Washington, DC for the IWPR Connect for Success Grant convening—learning, connecting, and building alongside folks who are just as committed to expanding opportunity and supporting Reproductive and Sexual Health access.

This work matters. These spaces matter. And being in community with people doing the work? That’s everything!

Climate change isn’t just an environmental issue—it’s a health issue.

And not everyone is impacted equally.

This summer, Justin Taft will be teaching HPM 394: Environmental Health, Sustainability & Climate Justice at Bellevue College (online, 3 credits).

In this course, students will explore:
• How environmental health and sustainability impact real communities
• Why housing, income, and geography shape exposure and risk
• The role of policy and historical decisions
• What community resilience and advocacy look like in action

This class is practical, discussion-based, and grounded in real-world examples.

If you’re interested in public health, sustainability, or making a meaningful impact, this is a great opportunity.
