The AS is an organization designed and run by Western students since 1908. We are staffed by over 200 dedicated students who provide a wealth of services and opportunities to the 15,000 person student body at WWU that comprise the entirety of our Associated Students. We seek to ensure a fulfilling college and academic experience for all Western students through the many services and programs we of

fer. By providing Western students with enjoyable networking and leadership opportunities, the AS aims to help students define themselves, find allies in the community and engage in their university surroundings.

Q: What is your favorite part about being part of senate?

A: My favorite part of being in the senate is getting to advocate on behalf of student academic needs and promote the goals of Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies.

Q: What is your favorite winter time activity?

A: My favorite winter activity is ice skating and watching Christmas movies.

A: After Midnight by Chappell Roan is living rent free in my head and on repeat

Meet MJ Dizon, Senator for college of fine and performing arts

Q: What is your favorite part about being part of senate/ e-board?

A: I love Being able to host community events specific to my college community. I also love working with other students that are passionate about people and politics.

Q: What is your favorite winter time activity?A: I have a daydream of going on a retreat and getting snowed in at a cabin in the woods; Friday the 13th/Until Dawn style. But instead of crime and murder, it would be a week of boardgames, wine, and hot chocolate by the fireplace with all my close friends.

Q: Song you’ve had on repeat lately?
A: Number One rule by Megan the Stallion. Any song that makes me feel like a runway model as I  strut on campus bricks is always going on repeat.

Behind the scenes of Lobby Day 2025!

Yesterday, Western students went to the Washington state capitol to meet with legislators and lobby for issues regarding WWU. Some main points on the agenda were per student funding, basic needs, OSE collective bargaining rights, environmental justice and more. It was an unforgettable experience!
