No food provided at glow walk, this is a glow and e-bike exercise .

However, Family budget friendly fun idea: Lummi Weekend Market will be open at Truck stop. Great Family idea. Go before or after to Lummi Weekend Market eat , then come exercise with the family at a free glow in dark walk with group and kids .

NWIC’s Financial Wellness Retreat for Native Communities was a fun filled financial wellness success! We had a full house, all 50 seats registered and still squeezed in a few walk-in’s for a total of 60 in attendance. Our participants included, Lummi Nation community members, NWIC students, NWIC staff, Lummi Nation Men&Women Homes, Community Elders, and Sobriety Groups. USBank sponsored education, gas cards from Lummi Commercial Co., Raffle Prizes, each participant a winner, laptop and IPad giveaways, and lunch buffet. Great time working on our connection to wellness, financial literacy, and indigenous rooted wellness discussions, sharing, eating together, and fellowship.

*Registration is now open*seats available while open* Financial Wellness for Native Communities Retreat. This two-part series presents a holistic, indigenous-rooted approach to financial literacy, grounded in community strength and resilience. The retreat will feature five knowledgeable presenters who will lead engaging discussions on how financial practices can be used as tools to support a healing mindset, strengthen identity, and promote growth. Participants will receive foundational training in essential financial literacy skills, including basic budgeting and introductory strategies for credit building and credit repair.
Participants who successfully attend both days, are eligible for giveaways, participant rewards, and prize opportunities of great value for the winners to start their financial path to success. BIO on instructor: Althea Wilson, a Lummi tribal member is alumni of NWIC, bachelor's degree in Native Environmental Science at the Northwest Indian College. Her father is the late Cluxten, James Wilson, Lummi Nation -father’s mother was Margaret Solomon of the Lummi Nation. – her parents Mary and Joseph Solomon. Her discipline focused on the documentary film based on an old village site of the Lummi people along the Nooksack River, where they fished at the mouth of Nooksack mainly after the Point Elliott Treaty of 1855. This film project is her culminating work. She earned first place in the undergraduate division at the Salish Sea Ecosystem Conference for this research project. Althea is a documentary filmmaker and cedar weaver, her work focuses on indigenous knowledge in the Salish Sea, social justice. She is a life-long resident of the traditional lands of the Lummi People. And is a direct descendent of original people of the Lummi Territory. She learned to weave in 2006. She believes weaving is an ancestral gift and revitalizing to our cultural.
