Nitsipowahsin: Breath of Our Ancestors

Join NASU this week as we welcome the knowledge of Blackfoot elders and scholars as a part of the Fraser Lecture Series! Attend in person in the newly opened Lhag ‘temish ew’w e tse XwLemi’ Longhouse on 505 Arboretum Drive, or via interactive livestream—streams can be accessed via the TRO website https://www.wwu.edu/tribal-relations.

This afternoon at 2pm, NASU Co-Chair Frank Miedema will kick off the series with his presentation on Blackfeet Water Rights.

HOST DRUM - Bad Soul

Bad Soul is a contemporary drum group based out of Grand Ronde Oregon who proudly represent the Pacific Northwest. They have a diverse group of singers from more than 10 different tribes throughout the US and Canada. Bad Soul’s goal is simply to bring a positive, healing, energy through their music that makes the people want to dance and celebrate.

2026 Powwow Friday Night Hand Drum Contest!

We’re pleased to announce our Hand Drum Contest for the Friday evening session! Payouts are for top four groups, $700 $600 $500 and $400 respectively. Groups of three must register at drum registration starting 5PM Friday. We’re excited to for everyone to share their songs and jam out!
