Happy Finals Week, students!

We hope you're taking good care of your mind and body this week. ❤️🧠

Need ideas for some extra self-care? Our staff wanted to share ways to be extra kind to yourself. Check out a few of our ideas:

🐶 Go to a pet store and look at the fish, birds, and other animals! If you ask the staff, they might even let you hold a critter!

🌲Take a break from studying and go for a walk in search of signs of spring!

😴 Don't forget to take care of your basic needs! Food, sleep, socialization. These things are not rewards, but should be integrated into your exam and study schedule.

🥗 Have good snacks available and an accountability buddy. Also, reach out to the writing lab at the library!

❤️Be intentional in scheduling time to take breaks and do things you enjoy that recharge your batteries! Prioritizing your self care can feel more difficult during busy or stressful times, but it's actually the most important time to do so!

✳️ CORRECTED DATE: TUESDAY, MAR. 14, 1-2:30 PM IN VU 565 ✳️

When Western signed on to the Okanagan Charter for Health Promoting Universities in November 2021, our university committed to improving student and employee wellbeing at WWU by addressing inequities in campus structures and systems.

As a part of this work, students in the senior-level Sociology capstone class collaborated with Counseling, Health, and Wellness Services to conduct a qualitative research study exploring students' sense of belonging and inclusion at WWU.

Please join us next Tuesday, Mar. 14, 1–2:30 PM in VU 565 to hear the study findings and participate in a discussion of next steps. We value your voice and sincerely hope you can attend!

For disability accommodation, please email [email protected].

Have you heard about our monthly workshop series, Growing Wellness?

These hands-on workshops offer nature-based experiential strategies and a space to connect with nature for wellbeing. Mark your calendar for March's workshop this Wednesday, Mar. 8, 1–2:30 PM in the Outback Farm outdoor classroom.

For this workshop, learn techniques for gathering your own positive energy and carry it with you to help with hard days or when you just need a boost. Our plant guide for this session is PLANTAIN.
