The Viking Union WWU's Student Union since 1959. The VU is a place for all community members - a people place, a place to meet, get involved, and to relax.

A place for people to work together - to play together. It is a union of people, events, facilities, and services. Here is a chance to interact, to influence the course of University affairs, and generally get involved. Lake Day is April 4, 2026! All students are welcome to join us for this free event, especially those that are looking to experience Lakewood for the first time!

A complimentary shuttle will leave from outside the Outdoor Center every 1/2 hour during the event (see info below).

Once you and your friends arrive at Lakewood there will be a variety of FREE activities to take part in, on and off the water:
Guided sailboat rides, 30’ canoe rides, Intro to paddling orientations, Free boat rentals, Lawn games, Arts & crafts, Board games, yoga, & Free Leaf & Ladle wraps/sandwiches for the first 100 students!

Celebrate Lakewood's season opening at Spring Lake Day!

Transportation options:
Shuttles will depart from Lot 6V outside the Outdoor Center on the bottom floor of the Viking Union (on Garden St) every half hour between 11:30a and 4:30p.

Return shuttles will leave Lakewood on the 1/2 hour and on demand after 4:30p. Limited seats available. The shuttles are intended for students that do not have access to personal transportation. If the shuttles fill, students will be directed to take WTA line 512 to Lakewood.
